Although I am brand new to your site, I thought I'd offer a few suggestions/confirmations: Movies: "Red/White/Blue" [aka Rouge/Blanc/Bleu] trilogy (foreign)-excellent and beautiful to look at. Who can resist French films by a Polish director. These were my introduction to the lovely Juliette Binoche. "Joe vs. the Volcano"-one of my favorite comedies. I loved Meg Ryan's multiple roles. "Pride & Prejudice"-if you loved the Keira Knightly version be sure to check out the 6-hour BBC version. Excellent, very faithful to Jane and yummy Colin Firth wet. "Thoroughly Modern Millie"-Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore in charming musical from the 60's(?). I just love it, but maybe it's nostalgia for the soundtrack album my mom had when I was a kid. "You've Got Mail"-a modern classic remake. gotta love Hanks & Ryan in anything (apparently I do, anyway) "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead"-funny! twist/parallel story of Hamlet Books: If you like science fiction at all, my absolute favorite sci-fi author is Orson Scott Card. Start with "Ender's Game" (classic & thoughtful) I also loved Anne Rice's two new books about Jesus Christ (quite a switch from vampires, right?) I think the first one is called "Christ:Out of Egypt" Can't think of the name of the 2nd right now. Love the 101 in 1001. am considering a modified version myself.
