A NYC Restaurant A Month
Chances are I’ll eat dinner more than once a month in NYC, so this is more of a minimum requirement.
January 2008
I went to: The Delta Grill on 48th and Ninth.
I went with: my friend Gayle.
I ate: jambalaya and classic bread puddin.
I thought: it was very spicy, but delicious and enough for leftovers the next day.

January
I went to: Rosie O’Grady’s on 46th and Broadway
I went with: a few folks from JDRF, plus Kerri, Scott, Allie and Ed.
I ate: grilled pork chops and a couple glasses of Pinot Grigio.
I thought: delicious, a bit loud because of the bar but the company was far superior!

January
I went to: Luke’s Bar and Grill
I went with: a group of NYC diabetics from MeetUp.com.
I ate: an Italian frittata, with sausage, artichokes and mozzerella cheese.
I thought: the food was delicious but I didn’t like that they don’t take debit cards!

January
I went to: 5Ninth
I went with: my friend Caitlin, Gayle, her fiance, Tara and her boyfriend Andy.
I ate: Bell and Evans Chicken and a fudge brownie with peanut butter mousse and vanilla gellato.
I thought: it was intimate, delicious and a great way to spend my 14th anniversary with diabetes.

February
I went to: Vinyl
I went with: Gayle.
I ate: pulled pork sandwich.
I thought: it was a fun spin on a diner with a lot of different items on the menu and didn’t seem too overpriced.

March 2008
I went to: Brooklyn Diner
I went with: a group of type 1 diabetics from the Meet Up group.
I ate: a BBQ chicken sandwich and side salad.
I thought: it was an overpriced diner… probably won’t go back.
April 2008:
I went to: Mercury Bar
I went with: a friend from New Jersey Young Professionals
I ate: a southwestern chicken salad
I thought: it was a great salad, but a little too expensive.
~*~
I went to: Chelsea Bar and Grill
I went with: Kerrita from the International Diabetes Federation
I ate: a chicken sandwich and yummy waffle fries
I thought: it was pretty decent, but I wouldn’t go there for a meal, just bar food.

May 2008:
I went to: Marseilles
I went with: Jon Schlaman from Diabetes Talkfest
I ate: a yummy asparagus and gorgonzola cheese omelette and a mimosa.
I thought: it was great, definitely amazing food and will totally go back.
~*~
I went to: The Bus Stop
I went with: nobody
I ate: the Bus Stop salad with eggplant, a cappuccino cake and a glass of pinot grigio
I thought: it was delicious, though the eggplant was a bit spicier than I thought but the cappuccino cake is pretty much my favorite thing in the world.

June 2008:
I went to: Amarone
I went with: my friend B from high school
I ate: rigatoni pasta with eggplant and mozzarella
I thought: it was very tasty
